I have been asked many times how I came up with the name “Ace Dragon”.
The Dragon is the most interesting. During the Iraq war it became obvious that our military vehicles needed more bomb blast protection. The military got with a polyurea company to develop a coating that the soldiers could apply in the field to existing vehicles. The soldiers nicknamed it Dragon Shield. I was so taken with the product that I took Dragon as part of my company name. The “Ace” came from advice to pick a name that would put us at the top of list and that it does.
I came from east Texas to help start up the Kuparuk oil field on the Nort Slope of Alaska in 1981 and moved to Kenai in 1985. I still live in Kenai. My whole work life has been based on solving problems and that’s what we do at Ace Dragon.
